This is my most exquisite Auntie Jo wearing our Bellevedere Midi Dress. Today we celebrate her birthday. We celebrate her magic. We celebrate her most true and uniquely beautiful elegance.
This is the woman who I grew up admiring. The woman who ignited my passion for dressing. Who taught me how to look for quality and how to spot a beautiful fabric. The woman who I somehow love and admire - in equal measure - more and more with every passing year.
She taught me to find beauty in the simplest of places - I remember the picnics we took where she'd somehow make buttering freshly baked rolls look romantic, where she'd tell me to breathe in the fresh air deeply and feel the freedom and beauty of being out in nature. We'd spot butterflies.
She'd casually place the last 3 copies of Vogue next to my chair when I'd visit her and say “you relax there flower”. She took me to vintage markets to find little treasures where she could somehow visualise and describe a very ordinary thing in its most beautiful form - she sees magic in everything.
As Chanel once said, “fashion changes but style endures" and here is absolute proof of that notion.
